Government Employees Salary Increase

The pay for civilian government workers will go up this January. Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman signed the guidelines for this raise.

The circular, National Budget Circular No. 597, follows Executive Order (EO) No. 64. This EO was signed by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. in August 2024. It orders a four-part pay raise from 2024 to 2027.

Secretary Pangandaman said in a press release that this second part of the pay raise will be given in January 2025. She hopes it will give much-needed financial help and let workers better support their families and improve their lives.

This raise will go to all civilian government workers in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, as well as those in state universities and colleges, and certain government corporations. But it won’t include military personnel, some government agencies, or workers hired under contracts or similar arrangements.

The money for this raise will come from the 2025 budget and the Miscellaneous Personnel Benefits Fund. For the covered government corporations, the funds will come from their own budgets.
